THE BURNING OF STRATHEARN
PRINTED BANNER FOR PERTH MUSEUM
I was one of six artists commissioned to produce a banner for the new
Perth Museum. Each banner tells a story from local history.
My story was The Burning of Strathearn, which took place in January 1715. The Jacobites burnt entire towns in the local area, ostensibly to stop the Government army from attacking them at Perth, but with the sinister bonus of taking revenge for a lack of support shown by the local people.
Below, I have split the banner into the separate panels so you can read it more easily on your screen.
